Arthritis Foundation Aquatic Program Plus Shallow Water - Sect. 1

Have fun and get exercise too! All activities are performed in shallow water and are within the capabilities of most people with arthritis. It is not necsessary to know how to swim. Although it is a non-clinical program, it may result in some physical benefits such as decreased pain and increased flexibility and endurance. Participants should have functional and relatively comfortable shoulder and elbow motion and be able to tolerate a 10-to-20 minute aquatic endurance component or 15 minutes standing or walking on land without excessive pain, fatigue or shortness of breath. Participants must provide and wear appropriate deck and water shoes. (Please note minimum age of 18 for this adult exercise program.) |
