Leadership Central Louisiana
This program builds leadership skills and provides exposure to community leaders, challenges and opportunities.
What is Leadership Central Louisiana?
Leadership Central Louisiana is an innovative program designed to take current or potential leaders to the next level - preparing participants for new challenges and providing the skills and exposure needed to add leadership equity to any business or organization.  The program builds leadership skills and provides exposure to community leaders, challenges and opportunities.

Who should participate?
Leadership Central Louisiana is open to all citizens of Central Louisiana.  Candidates for the program should be current or emerging leaders who:
  • Demonstrate an interest in and capacity for leadership
  • Demonstrate a willingness to enhance leadership skills
  • Demonstrate a willingness to commit the time and energy necessary to complete the program
  • Demonstrate an interest in community affairs and issues
  • Demonstrate personal and professional excellence
  • Demonstrate a passion for becoming involved in community issues

Leaders selected for the program will join the ranks of hundreds of alumni representing every major sector:  professional, government, corporate, finance, healthcare, news media, education, industry, volunteer, nonprofit, etc.

Class size is limited and will reflect the diversity of the community, so applying for the program does not guarantee participation.

What is the Time Investment?
Participants must agree to attend 8 one-day workshops.  One workship will be offered monthly beginning in January each year.  The program is scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on each workshop day.   Programs are generally held the fourth Thursday of every month beginning in January, with the exception of the May program which is held on the fourth Wednesday, and the August program which is held on the fourth Tuesday.

What is the Financial Investment?
The cost for the entire eight-month program is $800.00.  This fee includes registration and materials.  Lunches are also provided.

What is the Return on Investment?
This program benefits the participant, the sponsoring organization or business and the community in many ways.

The participant receives experience and instruction in leadership skills, and has numerous opportunities to make contacts with influential leaders and gain a better understanding of the many facets of the community.  They leave the program with increased confidence and motivation to become actively engaged to benefit their organizations and their communities.

The employer receives the benefit of an employee increasing organizational, leadership and networking skills.  Also, exposure to community leaders, challenges and opportunities helps the participant identify ways the organization can be more actively involved in other community activities.

The community receives a class of committed and motivated leaders ready to make Central Louisiana a better place to live and work.
